Staff members at the Hospital for Special Care wave goodbye to Michael Kelly on the day he was discharged from the hospital’s COVID recovery unit. The Hospital for Special Care provided intensive rehabilitation care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 after leaving an acute care hospital. In the first weeks of the pandemic, the hospital created a highly specialized, enclosed and designated COVID-19 recovery unit that helped patients like Kelly rebuild their strength and prepare them to return to their lives.
