The Connecticut Health I-Team runs intensive, weeklong summer journalism workshops for high school students at UConn, Quinnipiac and Yale universities.

This summer, we trained 75 students in a ‘newsroom’ setting, with each student researching, reporting and writing his or her own story. Students worked with complex databases and conducted interviews on their own.

The 2014 camps would not have been possible without the generous support of foundations and individuals. C-HIT would like to thank the Dow Jones News Fund, William Graustein, the Fisher Foundation, People’s Bank, the Knox Foundation, Quinnipiac University, the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Susan Whetstone and other donors for their contributions to the future of watchdog journalism.

We’re pleased to present some of the students’ finished work. For information on next summer’s journalism workshops, email delucia@c-hit.org.
